Accepting the Challenge

For those of you that know me, when you think of me what is the first thing that comes to mind???? Blonde, crazy Manly Supporter, Shopaholic, I am sure that last one would have entered most peoples heads. For those of you who don’t know me yes I am blonde, yes I am a crazy Manly supporter, but the one thing I am known for and the one thing I LOVE LOVE LOVE to do is shop. I am mad for it even from a young age this was my favourite past time. I remember the delight of going to Kmart to pick out my first Barbie Doll (for the record it was Day and Night Barbie) the search the choice the anticipation.

When it comes to shopping I do have a couple of major weaknesses,  my first weakness is DVD’s I just seem to collect them even if I never watch them, second is clothing from Aussie designer Erin Lalor and her label Erin Louise, if you have not yet seen her amazing stuff check it out erinlouise.com.au, the prettiest clothes ever, and my third weakness is Pyjamas by Aussie label Peter Alexander. My third weakness is a bad one as at present my collection stands at 55 pairs of pyjamas/nighties (with about 10 intems purchased in the last 3 months of last year) not to mention the countless over night bags, nighties I wear as day wear and other accessories. I do make myself cull some old ever time I buy something new, but that is purely a space issue. I am kind of like Carrie Bradshaw but instead of being the old lady that lived in the shoe I will be the old lady with over a years worth of sleepwear (if I wore a new lot every week and not every night).

I justify these weaknesses by saying I have an addictive personality and rather than been addicted to cocaine I chose Pyjamas instead. It all works out as I have lots of pretty sleepwear to show for my addiction and not a bleeding nose.

Anyway now for the purpose of my blog... after much thought on New Years resolutions I decided mine would be to not give as much of my money to Peter Alexander. After mentioning this to my Aunty she said I should try to go a year without buying any sleepwear from Peter Alexander. I immediately vetoed the idea. After thinking about it all day I have decided to at least attempt to cut down my habit... so here goes I am embarking on a no new cutting down on new sleepwear for a year challenge... maybe it should have been a no new shopping for a year but I can not deprive myself totally.

We are 1.5 days into 2013 and I can proudly say:

Sleepwear purchased: 0

Trips to a Peter Alexander store: 0
